Advantages of the Beckham Law
It allows you to pay property and income taxes as if you were a non-resident for the first 6 years after your move.
The 24% income tax, up to 600,000 euros, is levied on earned income worldwide.
Other income, such as foreign investment income, is not taxed in Spain, but only at source.
There is no obligation to file a declaration of assets located abroad.

Prerequisites for the application of the Beckham Act
Tax residence: The applicant must not have had tax residence in Spain in the last 5 tax years prior to moving to Spain.
The transfer to Spain must be for professional reasons, such as:
- Entering into an employment contract with a company based in Spain (excluding professional sportsmen and women).
- As a remote employee of a foreign company.
- Appointment as managing director of a Spanish company.
- Carrying out a business activity considered innovative and of special economic interest for Spain, confirmed by a favourable report from the competent authority ENISA.
- Highly qualified professionals (with restrictions).
Application: within 6 months of starting work in Spain.

What is the Beckham Law?
The Beckham Law allows employees relocating to Spain to benefit from favourable taxation. Instead of the usual progressive income tax, you pay a flat tax of 24% on your income (worldwide) up to 600,000 euros and 47% on amounts above that figure. In addition, other income from abroad is not taxable in Spain.

How long does the application process take?
As a general rule, the application is prepared within one month. The official decision may take up to 3 months.
What other tax advantages does Beckham Law have?
